From Widow to Warrior Interview with Karolyn Carrasco and Bodhi Simpson: Creative Connections
Click here to watch this interview From Widow to Warrior: Transforming Pain into Purpose, Passion & Power with Karolyn Carrasco and Bodhi Simpson, LCPC, ATR. In this video we discuss the healing power of creativity and are guided in a creative exercise to open our hearts and to increase our feelings of connection to our loved ones after they have died when our hearts are aching for connection.
Through creative expression we are able to explore loss, trauma, and death itself. We are able to begin to make sense of our loss, understand why it happened, what it means to us, and how it fits into the larger story of our lives. Creating art helps us to have a creative experience so that we can learn to live with loss. We are able to create art to celebrate life in the midst of death. We can use creativity to begin to explore our beliefs about what happens when we die, and to help us regain a sense of connection with ourselves and the world around us after a loss.
