About Bodhi Simpson
Bodhi Simpson, PhD, LCPC, ATR holds a doctorate in philosophy, is a licensed clinical professional counselor in Maine, and a registered art therapist with the Art Therapy Credentialing Board. She has 20 years of experience working with clients of all ages and educating clinicians across the state of Maine about the field of art therapy, as well as teaching tools and techniques for incorporating creative expression into clinical practice. Bodhi is a local and international workshop presenter, and she has a small "virtual" private practice in Maine where she integrates work with creative expression, imagination, story, myth, somatic approaches, meditation and mindfulness-based strategies, parts work, depth psychology, transpersonal psychology, positive psychology, and ecopsychology in her work with adults. Bodhi is also a assistant professor at the University of Maine at Farmington in the Masters of Art in Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in Creative Arts program where she thoroughly enjoys supporting Maine's future therapists in learning how to ethically and skillfully incorporate creative expression into clinical practice.
Bodhi earned her PhD in Wisdom Studies at Ubiquity University in 2022 where she proposed a new paradigm that suggests that our own creative process is also a way of Earth knowing herself and is a contribution to Earth’s evolution. She is the author of "The Girl Who Cried for the Earth: A Story of Hope, Healing, and Possibilities" as well as a co-creator of the
"Wisdom of the Heart Deck: Affirmations to Connect Heart and Mind".
She is co-creator of Expressive Wellness Workshops, Trainings, & Retreats which offers continuing education in the creative/expressive arts for healthcare professionals and organizations as well as wellness groups and creative healing retreats.​ She is a co-creator of Wisdom Journeys, LLC, which offers virtual, local, and international experiential training retreats at sacred and historically rich sites in Greece. Participants are invited to embody myths and archetypes through their own direct experience and personal exploration; and additionally counseling professionals are able to earn NBCC continuing education hours.
Bodhi is also a co-creator of the New England Goddess Temple's Triple Spiral Mystery School that offers a unique transformational exploration of Sacred Feminine ancient stories, myths, and archetypes. This "Goddess Rising Immersion" is a virtual 9-month deep dive accompanied by an in person "Goddess Quest" over a long weekend in the Maine forest. This experiential course is also in partnership with the Wisdom School at Ubiquity University to support students interested in earning an MA, D.Min, or PhD in Engaged Wisdom with a concentration in Goddess Studies.​

Bodhi is a past president of the Maine Mental Health Counselors Association, she also received the 40 under Forty Emerging Leaders of Maine award in 2012 for her art therapy group work with at-risk youth in central Maine. Additionally, Bodhi is also a visionary artist who regularly engages in her own conscious creativity practices and sells original paintings and prints of her inspirational paintings.
